Anfiteatro Porto Rotondo
Modern Age
Description of the site:
Inaugurated in 1995, the theatre has its origins in an idea by the sculptor Mario Cerioli, realized by architects Gianfranco Fini and Marina Sotgiu. Resounding the classical Greco-Roman models in rough granite from Gallura and embellished in high relief by the same Cerioli. The classical derivation is also evident in the external aspect, through gables, arches and obelisks of ornamental character, designed in granite to contrast with the stone blocks of the wall proper.
How to arrive: The site is opposite Piazza San Marco in the very heart of Porto Rotondo.
