Holidays and tourism in the city of Olbia

The first of November sees the renewal of the sacred tradition of the village of Porto Rotondo, by now in its eighth year. Organised by the appointed committee with the collaboration of the Consorzio and of the Associazione per Porto Rotondo and the patronage of the Assessorato al Turismo of the comune of Olbia.The celebrations include numerous games, such as a tug-of-war, the greasy pole, a lottery, a sack race, cookery demonstrations with fried squid, 150 kilos of sausage and 200 kilos of cheese, a good soaking of beer and wine, and to finish, home-made sweets from the women of the comittee. The evening concludes in the inspiring San Marco square with songs and dances, accordion music and local singers. During the week, local restaurants offer a menu with squid at fixed prices. (starters, a first and a second dish).
