Chiesa San Paolo
Description of the site:
Dating back to the middle of the 18th century, it is characterized by a rectangular body and three peaks which lend the building something of the appearance of a cross. The bell tower has a typically squared form and is entirely in granite, while the dome, added around 1939, is in polychrome. Inside the building there are two statues from the 18th century dedicated to the Sacro Cuore and San Francesco, the high altar, constructed entirely in marble, the pulpit crafted in venetian style. The walls exhibit frescoes representing the Via Crucis. Interesting also are the objets d'arte in silver, stored within: a halo of the Assunta and sandals from the 17th century.
How to get there: Located in via Cagliari, a crossing on the right of Corso Umberto I in the heart of the city centre. The church is freely accessible every year.
